Smoking is the leading preventable cause of premature deaths from cancer, heart and lung diseases. . Studies have shown that the combination of counselling and medication is the most effective way to quit smoking.
The SGH smoking cessation program provides a holistic assessment, counselling and medication to those who would like to quit smoking but are not sure where to begin or how to continue. During the one-hour session in the wards or the outpatient clinic, our smoking cessation counsellors would listen to your struggles, provide the necessary support and treatment. Starting from your first counselling session, the program is personalized based on your progress and may last from 3 months to 1 year to keep your quit momentum going. Video consultation is also available for eligible patients.
Currently, the outpatient smoking cessation clinic is available on Monday AM, Tuesday PM, Wednesday AM and Friday PM (except for Public Holiday).
