Telehealth @ SWIFT Care Clinic

Visiting the Emergency Department for a routine medical issue or non-emergency case? Head to the SWIFT booth for your telehealth consultation.

The SGH-Wide Initiative For Telehealth, or SWIFT Care Clinic is a pioneering initiative designed to provide prompt, high-quality medical care for non-emergency conditions. This service, in collaboration with Minmed, offers 24/7 access to medical consultations via telehealth, ensuring patients receive timely care without the need for long waits or unnecessary hospital visits.

What is SWIFT?

Championed by SGH's Emergency Department, the telemedicine service leverages innovation to connect patients with qualified doctors through secure video consultations. This approach is especially beneficial for those with non-urgent medical issues, providing a convenient and efficient alternative to traditional in-person visits.

What are the features of SWIFT?

24/7 Availability

The telemedicine service is available round-the-clock, allowing patients to access medical care at any time of day or night. This ensures that help is always at hand, no matter the hour.

Swift Medication Delivery

Following the consultation, medications are delivered directly to the patient's home in Singapore within three hours. This quick turnaround ensures that patients can begin their treatment promptly, enhancing the effectiveness of the care provided.

Flat Fee Structure

The service operates on a simple flat fee basis, making it easy for patients to understand and manage the costs. During regular hours (9:00 am to 8:59 pm), the consultation fee is $54.50, while during night hours (9:00 pm to 8:59 am), the fee is $87.20. These prices include GST and cover acute medications for up to one week.

Please note that charges may differ for payments made with private insurance.

How does Telehealth work?

Patients entering the Emergency Department will first be seen to by nurses who assess the urgency of their condition. For those suitable to be seen at the SWIFT Care Clinic, the nurses will recommend the telehealth service.

Patients will then proceed to the clinic located within the department for their assisted video consultation with a Minmed doctor. Here, they receive a thorough assessment, diagnosis, and treatment plan.

Post-consultation, patients can make their payment and arrange for medication delivery, ensuring a seamless and efficient process. This integration of technology into emergency care not only improves patient experience but also optimises resource allocation within the hospital.

When should I use Telehealth?

Services at SWIFT are ideal for non-emergency medical conditions that can be effectively managed through telehealth. For more complex cases requiring specialist care or in-person examination, appropriate referrals and follow-up appointments are arranged.
