What are the risks/complications?
Crown lengthening is considered a minor surgical procedure.
You will likely experience the following after the surgery, which should resolve on its own:
- Increased tooth sensitivity
- Increased tooth mobility
However, the following standard risks of surgery still apply, with a higher risk of occurrence in certain patient groups (e.g. immunocompromised patients, medically compromised patients on blood thinners):
- Prolonged bleeding
- Post-operative infection
