The Clinical Trials and Research Centre (CTRC) was set up in May 1999 as a one-stop resource centre to promote and co-ordinate high quality clinical trials in SGH. CTRC provides advice to Principal Investigators (PIs) and their Sponsors on the policies and guidelines for conducting clinical trials whether academic or sponsored.

As the coordinating centre in the hospital, CTRC maintains a database of all clinical trials in the SGH and updates the progress and status of these trials. The Centre also plays the important role of training the PIs and study coordinators.
