The
Clinical Trials and Research Centre (CTRC)
was set up in May 1999 as a one-stop resource centre to promote and co-ordinate high quality clinical trials in SGH. CTRC provides advice to Principal Investigators (PIs) and their Sponsors on the policies and guidelines for conducting clinical trials whether academic or sponsored.
As the coordinating centre in the hospital, CTRC maintains a database of all clinical trials in the SGH and updates the progress and status of these trials. The Centre also plays the important role of training the PIs and study coordinators.
Our services
The CTRC provides a comprehensive range of service to PIs and Sponsors conducting trials in SGH including:
Assistance in preparing for submission to Institutional Review Board (IRB) and other regulatory bodies
Assistance in budgeting and costing and agreement reviews
Provision of Good Clinical Practices (GCP) trained co-coordinators on project basis
Beginning-to-End management of trial visits
Collection and preliminary processing of samples before sending to central laboratory
Archiving of study related documents
Facilitates site monitoring visits, audits etc
Our staff
Currently, CTRC has a team of nine full time coordinators, who are all GCP trained to conduct studies in accordance with ICH guidelines. Our team has experience in coordinating trials in in the following disciplines:
Dermatology
Endocrinology
