Dr. Bee Yong Mong is the Head and Senior Consultant of the Department of Endocrinology at Singapore General Hospital (SGH). He holds the position of Clinical Associate Professor within the Medicine Academic Medicine Programme (ACP) at Duke-NUS Medical School, Singapore. Additionally, he is the Director of the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (DSAIL) at SGH.
Dr. Bee graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1998 and completed his specialist training in Endocrinology at SGH in 2007. He furthered his training at the Joslin Diabetes Centre in Boston, USA, from 2009 to 2010 as a recipient of the Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) fellowship award.
His clinical focus is primarily on the management of diabetes mellitus and lipid disorders. Dr. Bee leads research programmes aimed at diabetes prevention, risk prediction for diabetic complications, and leveraging artificial intelligence in diabetes care. He was instrumental in establishing the SingHealth Diabetes Registry (SDR), a comprehensive multi-institutional database derived from the SingHealth Electronic Medical Record system.
In addition to his roles at SGH and SingHealth, Dr. Bee is the President of Diabetes Singapore (DS), the sole registered charitable organisation in Singapore devoted exclusively to the fight against diabetes.
