Your doctor has prescribed the following medication:
Topical adapalene or tretinoin can be applied to the skin to treat acne. This medication works by reducing inflammation and clear blocked pores. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Avoid washing your face too often as this may increase the drying-out effect of your medication. Wash your face two to three times a day only.
Unless otherwise directed by your doctor, avoid using other “drying” preparations on the same treated areas to prevent severe irritations. These include harsh soaps and cleansers, alcoholic preparations and medicated cosmetics or soaps. Avoid staying directly under sunlight for long durations. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen product with Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of at least 30 and wear protective clothing when you are exposed to direct sunlight.
Avoid applying heavy make-up and using oily cosmetics. It is recommended to choose make-up products with non-oily formulas.
