Lapatinib is an oral targeted medication used to treat advanced breast cancer. It is normally given together with another oral medication, either Capecitabine or Letrozole.
Inform your doctor if any of the following occurs:
Avoid taking grapefruit or its juice while you are on Lapatinib.
It is a tablet taken by mouth, usually once daily at around the same time each day. Take the exact number of tablets instructed by your doctor. Take on an empty stomach i.e. at least 1 hour before or 1 hour after food.
If you miss a dose of Lapatinib, take the next scheduled dose at your usual dosing time. Do not make up for the missed dose or double dose the next day.
Do not crush or break the tablets.
