What side effects can
Anastrozole
cause?
- Bone pain, joint pain, muscle ache
- Hot flushes can sometimes occur
If this persists, take your tablets at bedtime. - Osteoporosis
Calcium supplementation can reduce or prevent bone thinning. - Tiredness and lack of energy
If tiredness is a problem, do not drive a car or operate machinery. Avoid alcohol as it may make you feel more tired and drowsy. - Stomach discomfort, nausea
- Increased blood cholesterol
- Vaginal dryness may be worsened
If this occurs, try using a water-based vaginal lubricant.
Inform your doctor if any of the following occurs:
- Uncontrolled nausea, vomiting or diarrhea in the first few weeks of treatment
- Skin rash
- Hot flushes that are troublesome
- Vaginal discomfort
- Chest pain or rapid heartbeat
- Dizziness
- Persistent headache
