Dr Ravichandran obtained his MBBS from University Malaya in 2000 and subsequently pursued his Masters in Obstetrics and Gynecology (M.Med.O&G) from 2004 to 2008 from University of Malaya. He was the prize medallist for the T A Sinnathuray Academic Award by the Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Malaysia for being the top student in the co-joint examination among 3 universities, University of Malaya, University Kebangsaan Malaysia & University Sains Malaysia. From 2008 to 2010, he worked as a specialist in Hospital Sultanah Aminah Johor which was one of the busiest hospitals in Malaysia.
Dr Ravichandran joined Singapore General Hospital in 2010 to pursue his passion in gynecologic oncology. He completed his Advanced Specialist Training in 2013 and was awarded the Singhealth HMDP scholarship for advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery in gynecologic oncology at Hanyang University Hospital and Severance Hospital Yonsei University in South Korea. In addition, he also completed his fellowship training in cytoreductive surgery for advanced ovarian cancer, pseudomyxoma peritoneii and Hyperthermic Intra Peritoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) at National Cancer Centre Korea.
Dr Ravi has vast experience in management of gynaecology cancer includes patient who are elderly, have multiple medical co-morbidities and obese. Apart from gynaecology oncology, Dr Ravichandran has extensive experience in performing minimally invasive surgery which includes laparo-endoscopic single site surgery(LESS) and transvaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (vNOTES) for benign and malignant conditions. In addition, Dr Ravichandran is passionate about managing complex benign gynaecology condition such as severe endometriosis and huge fibroid.
