… View More + Dr Foo Lean Heong is a consultant in the Periodontics Unit, Department of Restorative Dentistry, National Dental Centre (NDC). She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery with Distinction in 2007. She was awarded the prestigious Royal Education Awards by Malaysia King’s Council and Tunku Abdul Rahman Best Undergraduate Student in Public University for her outstanding performance in academic as well as in dental research.
During her undergraduate days, she has won several research competitions including the International Association of Dental Research (IADR) South East Asia Division Travelling Award for Junior Research Category to represent South East Asia Division in Unilever Hatton Awards Competition in IADR General Session in Brisbane, Australia; as well as Scientific Research Competition in Asia Pacific Dental Students Congress.
She subsequently further her study in Periodontology and completed her Master of Dental Surgery in Periodontology in National University of Singapore (NUS) under NUS Graduate ASEAN scholarship in 2013.
In addition, she was conferred Membership in Faculty of Dentistry and Membership in Restorative Dentistry in Periodontology by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2012 and 2013 respectively. She received certificate of Specialist Registration with Dental Council in Periodontology and conferred as a Fellow of Academy of Medicine Singapore in 2017.
Besides teaching the Dental officers in NDC, Dr Foo is also a clinical supervisor for NanYang Polytechnic Diploma in Oral Health Therapy.
