Profile

Dr Chng is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Endocrinology, Singapore General Hospital. Her main clinical interests are in thyroid diseases. In 2013, she was awarded the Health Manpower Development award to pursue her clinical interests in thyroid diseases in London. Upon her return, she helped to establish the multidisciplinary thyroid eye disease clinic with Oculoplastic Department, Singapore National Eye Centre. Dr Chng has received several research grants for her work in thyroid diseases. She has published extensively in local and international peer-reviewed scientific journals and contributed to book chapters on thyroid diseases. She is a recipient of several awards, including the SingHealth long service award, Singapore Health Quality Service Award (Gold & Silver), Health Manpower Development Plan award, Singhealth Publish! Award (2014 and 2016) and Residency in SingHealth Excels award (RiSE) for Outstanding Faculty. She has served as the Programme Director for the Academy of Medicine Singapore Advanced Specialist Training Program in Endocrinology. Outside of institution work, she was also a past elected committee member of the Endocrine and Metabolic Society of Singapore and the past Vice Chair of Chapter of Endocrinologists, College of Physicians, Singapore.
