Dr Alexia Zhu is an Associate Consultant with the Department of Family Medicine & Continuing Care at Singapore General Hospital (SGH). During her early postgraduate years, she gained a wealth of experience across various medical disciplines, including Internal Medicine, Palliative Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, General Surgery, Urology and Radiology. She received her Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in London in 2016.
In 2017, Dr Zhu transitioned into the field of family medicine, serving in SingHealth Community Hospitals for a few years before moving to the Department of Family Medicine & Continuing Care at SGH. She pursued advanced training, obtaining her Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine (GDFM) in 2018, followed by the Collegiate Membership of the College of Family Physicians Singapore (MCFP) in 2019. In 2022, she attained the Fellowship of the College of Family Physicians Singapore (FCFP) and was honored with the Dr. Koh Eng Kheng Gold Medal for her outstanding performance.
Dr Zhu is committed to holistic, person-centered care. She believes that healthcare should not only address the biological aspects of illness but also encompass the psychological and social dimensions that impact overall well-being. With a deep interest in the social determinants of health, she collaborates closely with caregivers and other health professionals to ensure comprehensive care that supports both physical and psychosocial health.
