Dr Tan York Kiat is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology, Singapore General Hospital (SGH). He graduated from National University of Singapore, went on to pursue Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) and subsequently completed his specialist training in Rheumatology in 2010.
Dr Tan’s areas of interest include musculoskeletal imaging and inflammatory arthritis. In 2010, he was awarded the Singhealth Health Manpower Development Program Award and was the organising Chairperson for the 2nd SSR-MSR Intermediate Musculoskeletal Ultrasound (MSK) Course in 2013.
Passionate in medical research, Dr Tan was a recipient of national level research grants such as the National Health Innovation Centre's Innovation to Develop grant (2015) and the National Medical Research Council's Transition Award (2015). His research focus is on the use of modern imaging (e.g ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging) in the study and research of Inflammatory Arthritis (including Rheumatoid Arthritis). Dr Tan is also involved in the teaching of medical students in SGH.
