SGH Emergency / NNI
The new SGH Emergency/National Neuroscience Institute building brings critical services closer together, enabling faster access for patients when time is of the essence.
Before the building opens fully in 2025, patients with emergency needs should continue to seek attention at the SGH Emergency Department at Block 1.
On 11 December 2024, patient care services began with the opening of two Acute Medical Wards (AMW). Supporting services such as Pharmacy and Radiology also commenced operations to ensure care for these patients continue smoothly.
On 16 December 2024, we transferred patients waiting for admission to a large purpose-built holding ward, located at level 4, Zone F (Observation) of the new building.
When fully opened in 2025, these services will operate within the same facility:
- Acute Medical Wards (Ward 86, 87, 88, 89)
- Department of Emergency Medicine (Patients seeking emergency treatment to go to SGH Block 1 till the move in 2025)
- Diagnostic & Interventional Radiology Facility
- Pharmacy
- Outpatient Services - Neuroscience Clinic (SGH) and Neuro-Diagnostic & Therapeutic Centre (NDTC)
- Mortuary
The National Neuroscience Institute (NNI) Executive Office and Department Offices are located in the upper floors.
