The CTS Core provides cold storage service for IRB approved projects which utilizes existing cold storage units such as -80°C, -20°C, 4°C fridges/freezers and liquid nitrogen tanks found at SGH Research Laboratory.
This service is initiated to:
The cold storage service at SGH Research Laboratory comes with a nominal fee which is reflected in the table below. Interested researchers can submit the storage request form (only accessible to SingHealth staff) and the IRB approval letter to Hazel Foo.
The CTS Core allows internal and external researchers access to the following specialised research equipment from our research platforms at an affordable fee:

With 16-capillary throughput and advanced automation capabilities, the 3130xl system is flexible enough to meet the throughput needs of the busiest core facility or research group. The streamlined set-up and 24-hour unattended operation make it an ideal choice for low or medium throughput laboratories.
The 24-capillary 3500xL Genetic Analyzer is fluorescence based DNA analysis instrument specifically designed to enhance productivity and confidence in the human identification (HID) laboratory.
The Nikon A1R confocal live cell imaging system is equipped with Nikon Ti-E inverted microscope, 4 lasers (405nm, 488nm, 543nm, 638nm), 4 PMT, environmental control, intensilight mercury-fiber illuminator, high sensitivity CCD camera, lenses for phase contrast, DIC and lens with violet correction.
The CyAn™ ADP Analyzer is an automated, 3 laser (405nm, 488nm, 642nm) flow cytometry system that performs 11 standard parameter analysis including 9 color plus FSC (Forward Scatter) and SSC (Side Scatter).
The RS2000 X-ray Irradiator is ideal for the irradiation of small animals for myeloablation/ chimera creation. Its ability to achieve 95% Dose uniformity to all the animals in the filtered animal cage makes the RS 2000 ideal for small animal research.
The Fluidigm system consists of the following:
The Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer is a microfluidics-based platform for sizing, quantification and quality control of DNA, RNA, proteins and cells. Results are delivered within 30-40 minutes in automated, high quality digital data.
This Milliplex system simultaneously detect and quantify multiple parameters in a small volume of precious biological fluid samples and correlate the data from multiple analytes to reveal complex relationships and pathways of biomolecules using a bead-based multiplex suspension array system.
Affymetrix GeneChip® System is a microarray system equipped with Hybridization Oven 640, Fluidics Station 450 and Scanner 3000 7G with Autoloader. The system is managed by Affymetrix GeneChip Operating Software (GCOS).
Our ultra high performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) system, equipped with electrochemical detector (ECD) and ultra-violet (UV) detector, is capable of covering a broad range of UHPLC application demands.
The Fragment Analyzer accelerates nucleic acid analysis workflow through the automation of key steps such as gel loading and sample injection. With a 12-capillary array, it can analyze 12 samples simultaneously from a 96-well plate or tube strips. The instrument can hold up to three trays of 96-well plates at a time, and process the plates/ samples in any order. After separations are complete, nucleic acid fragment analysis is simplified with PROSize Data Analysis Software.
